Ron Higgens, CTO/FounderRon Higgins
Chief Technical Officer and Founder

Ron is responsible for the architecture of Estorian’s products and he also manages the Product Engineering team. Ron’s significant product expertise spans email archiving and data management, hierarchical storage reference patterns, tape management and backup/recovery solutions.

Ron began his efforts to address the lack of scalable e-discovery tools in 2002 while working on a massive e-discovery project for the U.S. Department of Justice. Knowing that there had to be a better way, Ron developed Spherical Indexing™, a patent-pending technology that not only full-text indexes emails and attachments, but also indexes the history of those documents in your enterprise. This technology is at the core of Estorian’s flagship product – LookingGlass®. LookingGlass® provides an interactive solution for e-mail archive/retention, pre-case assessment and document culling; drastically reducing the cost and increasing the speed of e-discovery projects.

Prior to developing LookingGlass®, Ron founded Trilogy (later renamed TeraCloud), a storage analytics company. TeraCloud’s products provide storage utilization analytics to pin-point conditions and predictive events where storage utilization is sub-optimized. Estorian and TeraCloud merged in 2008 and now operate under the Estorian name.

Ron was previously an independent storage consultant advising corporations such as American Honda and Pepsi Co, after stints with Amdahl Corp. (now called Fujitsu IT Holdings) and Hitachi Data Systems (HDS).
